Book Three — The Crossing

Book Three opened with a milestone years in the making: Aim moved into its permanent home in Draper. And it opened with something else the school had never known — a year without its founder as head of school, with Serena Cofer carrying the community forward.

The daily story continued: new families found the tribe, a new campus became home, and a new Odyssey — the Lamentum Institute — began casting its spell.

But this book, too, turned out to be a single year. Lance would later write that this stretch taught him something he maybe should have already known: a school like Aim asks its leader to live inside it, not near it — that its culture is not a flywheel you set spinning, but a fire that must be tended every day. In the spring of 2026 he came home, and the school marked the moment the way Aim marks every true turning of its story: by ceremonially closing one book and opening the next.

Heroes Aren't Just For Stories

We don't call your children heroes because it sounds cute or motivational. We call them heroes because it represents a fundamental shift...
