The Story of Aim

Most schools measure their history in school years. We measure ours in books.

From its very first week, Aim has told its students the truth: they are heroes on a hero's journey. So it should surprise no one that the school itself turned out to be on one too. Nearly every post on this blog began as a real letter written to Aim families while the story was happening — unpolished, unfiltered, and exactly as it felt at the time.

A book closes when the story truly turns, and we mark it with ceremony — the old book closed, the new one opened. Some books last four years. Some last one. Books are measured in meaning, not months.

Choose a book below and start reading. Book Four is being written right now.

Book One — The Founding

Ten brave eagles, a rented building, and a bet that children could govern their own learning. Four years of first quests, first exhibitions, and first odysseys — ending with our first graduation and the words: "So...Book 2 begins right now."

Book Two — Outside the Circle

The guides stepped outside the circle and handed the eagles the helm. A year of real freedom, a raised bar, and the hard lessons only real stakes can teach.

Book Three — The Crossing

A permanent home in Draper. A new head of school. The first book written without our founder at the helm — and the year that revealed what tending the fire really requires.

Book Four — The Return

The founder comes home. The standards rise. The Lamentum Institute opens its doors. This book is being written right now.
